Have you ever considered what reluctant readers and creative children have in common? The first group don't want to do it, and the second group always wants to it (whatever you're working on at the moment) a different way. Is there some connection?
Can they help each other satisfy somebody?
I'll be watching for you!

The connection is their brains are wired a bit differently than children who are verbally gifted. Reading is a learned ability. We are not born able to read. We are given the ability to learn to walk and talk by our Creator. But reading has to be learned. That learned trait comes easier to some than others.
ReplyDeleteYes, they could help each other. But those who are working with them have to be flexible enough to allow creative methods to transpire. Often, in conventional settings, that does not happen. Schools and traditional Sunday School classes are two examples where time constraints seem to squelch allowing creative ideas to play out.
